Fabrychnaya 20A — a bathhouse near which, on 16 September 1999, opponents of the regime were abducted: politician Viktor Hanchar and businessman Viktor Krasovsky. Investigators found paint fragments, skid marks and evidence of the car's collision with a tree near the bathhouse, as well as traces of blood. DNA analysis showed the blood belonged to Viktor Hanchar. At the time of their disappearance Hanchar was 41 and Krasovsky was 47.
In 2019 Yury Harawsky, who claimed to be a former member of a Belarusian 'death squad', stated that he took part in the abductions and killings of opponents of Lukashenko. He first spoke about the seizure and murder of former Interior Minister Yury Zakharanka on 7 May 1999, and then about the case of Hanchar and Krasovsky.
According to Harawsky, Hanchar and Krasovsky were the last to leave the bathhouse and got into a car. "The street was dark, there were no streetlights and no passersby; we had everything under control. When their car started to move, we blocked its way. I took a couple of steps, broke the glass and with a swing of a chain struck Hanchar in the lip and nose. Pankov opened the door; I put the chain around Hanchar's neck, pulled him out of the car and laid him on the ground," he said.
